In Phoenix we are often regarded for our harsh desert landscape and wild-west history. So for the July/August edition of Phoenix Woman, we’ve taken a few style notes from our cowgirl predecessors and translated them into fall’s hottest looks. We used cowboy boots in every shot and layered on turquoise and leather jewelry. Out in Greasewood Flats, Crystal and Stephanie took their roughed up looks straight into the desert, jumping on rusty wagon wheels, hiking through cactus, and capturing gorgeous photos in modern rodeo queen glamour.

STYLE NOTE:
Adding a little rustic edge to your own wardrobe for the fall is easy. The shoe of choice for this season is the cowboy boot; so find a great pair to incorporate into your wardrobe to make your denim or dresses just a little tougher. Adding a concho belt on top of a coat or feminine dress is an expected element that will pull a look together and turn your staples into something completely new. The bright pop of color and the edge of imperfect coral or turquoise stones are the perfect way to accent any outfit and allow you to truly individualize your look. Use accessories to rough up your style a little and let your inner cowgirl shine.

Independence Day is nearly upon us, serving as a reminder to pay tribute to the men and women of our armed services that work day in and day out to protect our freedom. For the July\August edition of Lifestyle magazine we created a fashion spread using looks inspired by and styled to resemble uniforms from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corp; showcased by Arizona’s own reality star and contestant on the second season of Bravo’s Make Me A Supermodel, Jordan Condra. Jordan had a great time with the shoot and jumped onto every plane, helicopter, and jeep without an ounce of hesitation, and the results are a beautiful, photographic salute to our nation’s heroes.

For the first time in her highly public, twelve year marriage to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, Brenda Warner agreed to spend one day as the center of attention. Although she has been a public figure since Kurt’s rise to fame on the gridiron in the late nineties, this was the first time she has ever been the subject of a professional photo shoot. Despite a lack of experience in front of the camera, Brenda herself is a gifted photographer, which likely led to her comfort and grace in the photos. She even allowed her inner bombshell out for the day, posing in her husband’s jersey for the cover of Phoenix Woman magazine. Having fun with shoot and taking the chance to clear up a few rumors and speak about herself and her family candidly and honestly, Brenda revealed herself as a warm, loving mother and wife who is completely unconcerned with her beautiful appearance. Fortunately, we now have the pictures to speak to that for her.

Spring can mean a number of things in the realm of fashion and style, but one resounding trend that can always be expected for the season of blooming foliage and the emergence of fresh romance is: floral. What it is about this seasonal staple that brings designers and women alike flocking back year after year? The answer to that question is simply: women love it. There is nothing like a floral print to breathe life into an outfit. Florals are sexy, girly, and fun, and there are versions that will work for anyone of any coloring or shape. Also, bright prints and garden scenery aside, there are alternative takes on floral for garments that will take us even into the months of summer and fall. Rich color, lace detail, and watercolor prints hearken to a more sophisticated version of this feminine classic. On film, floral prints appear vibrantly and create a strong focal point; and what better way to capture the beauty of a woman than when she feels comfortable, sexy, and is the undisputed center of attention?
